Prolific teen climate activist Greta Thunberg features in American rock band Pearl Jam’s latest music video Retrograde.
The video tells the story of a man visiting a psychic, who shows him through a crystal ball the damaging impact the climate crisis is having on the planet.
‘Seas are rising forever’
Illustrations of rising sea levels infiltrating New York and the Australian fires that swept the country earlier this year are accompanied with lyrics including: “Seven seas are rising forever future’s fading out,” and “It’s gonna take much more than ordinary love to lift this up.”
Later in the video, 17-year-old Thunberg is revealed as the fortune teller.
Digital strike
Amid the coronavirus (Covid-19_ pandemic, Thunberg has called for her Fridays For Future campaign to go digital.
“School strike week 82. In a crisis, we change our behavior and adapt to the new circumstances fo the greater good of society,” she wrote on Twitter.
