There’s a popular myth that people need to eat meat to build muscle.
But this isn’t true, as a growing number of amazing athletes are beginning to show, reaching the top of their game on a plant-based diet.
Smashing sterotypes
In this exclusive video, Plant Based News‘ founder Klaus Mitchell highlights seven incredible plant-based bodybuilders.
These top performers are destroying the old stereotypes anywhere they go.
7. Massimo Brunaccioni
Brunaccioni is an athlete, trainer, nutrition coach, and World Champion in natural bodybuilding.
He’s even released his own training and cookbook Vegan Coach. As a proud vegan, he wants to lead by example and show people that a fully plant-based diet isn’t just healthy and ethical, but also the best for the planet.
6. Jehina Malik
Vegan from birth, Malik is a multiple bodybuilding champion. She’s an inspiration to many and has overcome the serious injuries she suffered three years ago when she was hit by a car.
She’s on top form again and said it was thanks to a vegan diet that she was able to bounce back so quickly.
5. Frank Medrano
Medrano is a calisthenics expert, trainer, and pro athlete. Throughout his career, he’s inspired millions of people to change their lifestyle, and given them the tools to do it.
His superhuman physique leaves no doubts about plants being the best fuel, and says his ‘training and nutrition went to a different level’ when he ‘figured out what to eat as a vegan’.
4. Vanessa Espinoza
Espinoza is a professional bodybuilder, strength athlete, and coach.
She’s also a multiple boxing champion and basketball coach.
She credits much of her success to plant-based nutrition and has been vegan for over 14 years. She says becoming plant-based boosted her energy levels, sped up her recovery times, and allowed her to put on more muscle than ever before.
3. Derek Tresize
Tresize is a professional bodybuilder who has won many championships.
He’s also a personal trainer and co-author of Vegan Muscle and Fitness magazine.
He’s been vegan for more than a decade, and owns his own Fitness Studio called Brute force.
