Innovative Plant-Based Brand Shows You Don’t Need Fish For Brain Health

Celebrity ex-vegan Miley Cyrus made headlines this week after revealing that she’s started eating fish again after feeling that her brain health was suffering – but an innovative plant-based brain health and mental awareness brand says its supplement offers an alternative to eating animals.

HEIGHTS offers an innovative supplement which it says can improve biochemical markers of nutrition over three months – and it is currently undertaking a trial of its product to prove it, with results to be published in due course.

The company counts a number of prolific people and health experts among its fans including John Cleese, Stephen Fry, the founders of the biggest European plant-based companies like Allplants and THIS, Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, influencer Zanna Van Dijk, plant-based brand Vevolution, and Renée Elliott, founder of Planet Organic.

Smart Supplement

The company’s flagship Smart Supplement – which was designed as a premium-quality replacement for most common supplements and multivitamins – combines 19 essential healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in the quantities shown to have the highest impact on the health of your brain and body, in a formulation you can actually absorb.

Its nutrient highlights include antioxidants, which are great for counterbalancing the effects of environmental pollutants and other lifestyle factors that put stress on our bodies. Heights contains five powerful antioxidants; vitamin E, anthocyanins, zinc, selenium and Vitamin C.

The supplement also features Omega 3 oil (DHA and EPA from algae oil). For those that don’t already know, Omega 3 Oil optimises the structure of your brain and can help with mood and mood disorders. DHA can also improve memory and focus, and EPA helps to fight cellular inflammation.

Unlike virtually every other product online or in store, the smart supplement uniquely features Omega 3 oil (DHA and EPA from algae oil) in the same patented ‘clever capsule’. For those that don’t already know, Omega 3 Oil optimises the structure of your brain and can help with mood and mood disorders. DHA can also improve memory and focus, and EPA helps to fight cellular inflammation.

Clever capsule

B vitamins – which provide your cells with energy and support the efficient transport of information through your brain – are included, alongside Vitamin D, which has been government-recommended during lockdown, and is extra-important as we slide into the autumn and winter months. Deficiency is common and is associated with poor immune function and many other health problems including depression.

Heights uses a unique patented ‘clever capsule’, which slow releases the nutrients into your gut, enabling you to take it at any time, including first thing in the morning. Working with world famous design agency Pentagram (famous for designing the iPod and Kindle), they worked on how to create a bottle that enables customers to keep a healthy habit, through repetition. The result was this award winning design that customers leave out on their bedside table or work stations, which means they remember to keep the habit of taking two every day.

Interesting article. There is massive scope for McDonald’s to really capitalise on this market. However, the real question is whether they will cook the burgers in a vegan or even a vegetarian oil, and the same goes for the fries. Are they going to stop putting the oil through the same filtering process as with the oil from the meat etc which is currently the practice in every UK McDonald’s. Reusing the oil is great, but can you call the fries or veggie burger vegan or even vegetarian if the oil used has been mixed?

Whatever the reason is…. it’s animal cruelty that people will not support naturally…so that will surely determine who is going to have a victorious outcome and a win win situation in the near future… it’s obvious that plant based meat will be the choice of the majority in the end…

It’s often helpful if a person is going to attempt to write about veganism (or any issue) they take the time to actually understand what tgat issue is about. The author J7 has done no such thing. It’ ought to be embarrassing.

Why didn’t she refute the argument.? We all know how unsustainable animal agriculture is. The world isn’t fed by grass fed animals.

I share the concern about heavily processed foods and wonder about the health implications for us all. I also would like to see an end to meat farming. Perhaps we could be encouraging more natural food sources? Also, just so you know, the WWF is not necessarily the most ethical organisation, sadly. See e.g. https://www.survivalinternational.org/news/12058
