New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has partnered with U.S.-based plant-based meal-kit delivery company Purple Carrot.
The 40-year-old sportsman, who is reportedly an ‘almost vegan‘, has teamed up with the animal-free meal delivery service business – which aims to ‘make vegan food to non-vegans’.
Purple Carrot is now collaborating with Brady’s performance plan, TB12, in a bid to offer plant-based options that are high in protein for those who lead an active lifestyle.
According to the Bleacher Report, Brady sticks to a vegan diet most of the year, but eats meats like chicken during winter months.
Plant-based
The company’s CEO and Founder Andrew Levitt, although not fully plant-based himself, has also spoken out about the environmental and health impacts of the diet, from eliminating depression to reducing the side effects of Crohn’s disease and cancer.
Levitt, a self-described ‘bouncetarian’, told news outlet Cheddar: “Our message has been absolutely no animal protein, no dairy, no eggs… Our numbers have been growing beyond our expectations.
He added: “[Purple Carrot] is helping people understand the value of plant-based, for both their own health and the health of the environment.”
